Biology Education with add-on certification in Broad Science, B.S.

The Secondary Biology education with add-on certification in broad science program is designed to prepare teacher candidates to teach biology education, 9-12, as well as meet the requirements to teach all high school science areas. The curriculum content includes biology lab courses aligned to science standards taught in the respective grade levels, along with secondary education pedagogy and field experience course work. Secondary Biology with add-on certification in broad science education teacher candidates also complete requirements to achieve recommendation for South Carolina initial teacher certification.

Graduation Requirements

2.75 GPA (In adherence with SC state requirements, courses approved for Read to Succeed endorsement require a grade of “C” or higher. These courses include EDU 370, EDU 470; Completion of Benchmarks I,II,III
