Undergraduate Certificate
An Undergraduate Certificate is a formal academic program for students who need to acquire new knowledge or skills to augment their professional credentials. The Undergraduate Certificate consists of a minimum of 12 credit hours at the undergraduate level and does not require a bachelor’s degree for admission. The Undergraduate Certificate consists of a combination of required and elective courses in a discipline or set of disciplines that support specific program objectives. Students in the Certificate program will have a unique Academic Plan.
Admission Requirements
Certificate students must meet the admissions requirements of their specialized program. Students will apply through the same process as other degree-seeking students.
Minimum Number of Credit Hours for a Certificate to be Completed at Anderson University
If pursuing a minor or certificate, students must successfully complete through Anderson University at least 6 credit hours required by the recorded minor(s) or certificate(s) to be awarded.
Any student wishing to appeal this policy must demonstrate extraordinary circumstances. The appeal should be directed to the Office of the Provost.
Tuition and Aid
Tuition is set for each Certificate program. Federal Financial Aid is not available when enrolled in a stand-alone Certificate program.
Transfer Credit
Coursework earned in the Certificate may be applied to other AU post-baccalaureate programs, but at least 50% of any additional degree must consist of new coursework. No outside transfer credit may be used in the coursework for a Certificate program.
Graduation and Certificate Conferral
Students will apply for Certificate Completion (similar to Graduation Application) and see the certificate conferral on their academic record after commencement.
