The mission of the Anderson University Human Performance Department is to offer students the opportunity to successfully prepare for a career in either the health and fitness profession or graduate studies.  A secondary purpose of the program is to convey to all students the importance of lifetime wellness.

Prior to gaining clearance to take upper-level courses in Kinesiology, a specific GPA must be met in four introductory courses: KIN 140, BIO 140/141, CHE 111/113, and MAT 107.  If a student wishes to declare an Athletic Training concentration, a 3.2 GPA is required in these introductory courses.  The profession of Athletic Training requires graduating from an accredited entry-level graduate school where a 3.2 will better prepare students entering into this profession.
