Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Nursing is to be Christ-centered, people-focused, student-oriented, quality-driven, and future-directed in preparing qualified persons to serve a diverse population through the holistic profession of nursing.

Components for Learning

The RN-BSN Completion (RN-BSN) enables a registered nurse (holding an Associate Degree) to continue nursing studies and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The post-licensure educational track provides the opportunity to enhance nursing knowledge, leadership skills, and professional opportunities. Nursing courses are offered in a 7-week online format, with 100% of the didactic portion being online and a 90-hour in-person clinical component. The clinical component can be completed in the area in which you live. After meeting the general education requirements, completion of the RN-BSN track can be accomplished within 15 months when NUR courses are taken consistently. Once beginning the nursing RN-BSN courses, if nursing courses are taken intermittently, they must be completed within 36-months from beginning the first nursing course.

General education and nursing cognate requirements are offered online in a 7-week format and can be completed any time before, concurrently, or after nursing courses. Thirty-four hours of credit is transferred from the nurse’s previous Associate Degree with an additional 12 hours of credit for having previously taken anatomy, physiology, and microbiology, bringing the total transfer credit to 46 hours.

Special Requirements for Admission

Admission requirements include:

1. Overall 2.0 GPA in previous nursing coursework from a nationally accredited associate degree nursing program.
2. Hold an active, unencumbered Registered Nursing license

Specified Graduation Requirements: 2.8 GPA in Major Requirements and a C or higher in Cognate and Major Courses.
