Secondary Social Studies Education (9-12), B.A.

The Secondary Social Studies Education program is designed and approved to meet the requirements for professional teaching licensure in the state of South Carolina within a specific Secondary Social Studies (9-12) discipline. Candidates in this program will complete coursework in their discipline of study as well as educational coursework and clinical practice in public school settings. This program is nationally accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Specified Education Requirements

In adherence with SC state requirements, courses approved for Read to Succeed endoresement require a grade of “C” or higher.  These courses include EDU 345, EDU 346, EDU 347, EDU 445, EDU 370, EDU 470, EDU 550, EDU 551, EDU 552, EDU 553.
