ENME 230 - Statics3 Cr. Hrs. This course is an analysis of rigid bodies as a prelude to design. It includes the study of forces on bodies at rest, vector algebra, resultant of force systems, analysis of force systems in equilibrium, free-body diagrams, statically indeterminant systems, distributed loads, internal forces, application to trusses, frames and beams, friction, centroids, moments of inertia, and the method of virtual work.
Prerequisite(s): PHY 201
