DAN 446 - Jazz 52 Cr. Hrs. Common Learning Outcomes 17. [AE] Aesthetic engagement through creative production or reflective patronage of the arts
This Advanced dance course is designed as an elite, specialized offering preparing students for the expectations of professional work after college and inquiry into the processes for graduate study. Students will work on extensive skills in the advanced level of jazz technique, focusing on mastery of coordination, isolation, flexibility, and placement of the body. Students will increase performance ability and musical artistry while exploring media outlets of jazz across stage and film in preparation for a performing career in commercial, theatrical and/or concert jazz. Students are required to have flat jazz shoes and character heels. May be repeated eight times.
