BUS 596 - Part-time Experiential Learning

1 Cr. Hrs.

The part-time graduate experiential learning course provides students with an opportunity to gain practical work experience, linking experience to graduate program course outcomes. This is a practical way by which students can inform their academic leaders of their internships, job shadowing, or other work experience that applied to the learning process. This course is especially important to international students, who must align any work they are experiencing with courses in which they are enrolled.

The course consists of papers written and submitted by the students. Students will specify the job activities (description), resume, and how the work experience connects with the student’s current courses. International students, who have not applied for Optional Practical Training (OPT), must 1) limit their part-time experiential workload to an average of 20 hours/per week or less, 2) limit any full-time experiential workload to less than 360 days, 3) be enrolled full-time (6 credits or more), and 4) maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
