CYB 150 - Cybersecurity Foundations3 Cr. Hrs. Covers the foundational concepts of the cybersecurity discipline. Students learn how to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and computer systems. Topics examined include computer technology, access control, cryptography, malware, hacker techniques, computer crime and legal issues. Computer networking is emphasized to include analyzing TCP/IP, common protocols, the OSI model and employing appropriate defense strategies to combat global cyber threats. To reinforce the concepts, students gain experience with security tools and command-line utilities.
Formerly CYB 101. Students cannot receive credit for CYB 101 and CYB 150.
