ENGR 440 - Computer-Aided Simulation Modeling and Analysis

3 Cr. Hrs.
This course introduces Computer Aided Engineering, modeling, and simulation, across all engineering disciplines. The goal is engineering design that reduces time and cost in product and process development. Universal, fundamental principles are first emphasized in modelling both continuous and discrete events. Uses ANSYS and modules to simulate, validate, and optimize products and manufacturing processes. Students then select simulation projects based upon their engineering majors in tasks such as; analysis, simulation, design, manufacture, planning, diagnosis, and maintenance.

Prerequisite(s): ENGR 130 and ENGR 350
Grading Basis: Graded Repeatable: No Typical Periods Offered: Spring
