ENGR 360 - Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation

3 Cr. Hrs.
A study of entrepreneurial pathways and business issues in product commercialization.  Specific attention to engineering innovation; the business canvas model, customer discovery, and regulatory pathways. This course will address regulatory and quality aspects of the design process; risk mitigation, understanding device standards, patenting and IP protection, early stage funding options for innovative technologies (Angels, SBIR, STTR, Venture), and key market introduction and post launch processes and includes the rudiments of business planning. Examples drawn from the medical device/medical products sector.

Prerequisite(s): ENGR 120, ENGR 121, Permission of the instructor Corequisite(s): CON 3XX Science Technology Engineering Math and Public Policy
