The major in English: Creative Writing concentration provides students with an overview of the English language and composition. Along with a foundation provided through the study of the liberal arts, students explore a variety of types of creative writing, as well as receiving extensive experience in formal academic research and writing. Graduates in the English: Creative Writing concentration will exhibit disciplinary competency in their writing fields. In addition, graduates will demonstrate competency in such skills as crtiical thinking and analysis as well as oral communication. Because of the broad base of liberal arts training, gradutes may find work in a variety of fields, including but not limited to publishing, editing, marketing, advertising, missions, non-profit organizations, and others.
