HON 480 - Academic Apprenticeship3 Cr. Hrs. The first in a two-course capstone sequence in the Honors Scholars major, Academic Apprenticeship is completed with a professor of student choice (subject to approval) in an one-on-one setting. HON 480 builds toward career goals and to assesses fellowship, scholarship, and grant options for postgraduate pursuit. Options could include joint research projects, delivering a set number of guest presentations within a 100-level course, editing a publication, conference participation, or whatever meets two key goals: 1) deeper experience in the student’s field; 2) academic development under direct supervision. Course design will vary depending on professor and academic discipline. Taken fall or spring of junior year, or fall of senior year.
Prerequisite(s): HON 315 and junior status Grading Basis: Graded Repeatable: No Typical Periods Offered: Fall, Spring
