AI 303 - Management, Policy, and Ethics in Artificial Intelligence3 Cr. Hrs. This course explores the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence through the lenses of leadership, governance, and ethical responsibility. Designed for students preparing to work in fields where AI deployment and oversight will be critical, the course equips learners with frameworks to evaluate AI policy, manage technological implementation in organizational contexts, and address moral dilemmas at the intersection of innovation, justice, and human flourishing.
Topics include AI governance models (public and private), algorithmic accountability, regulatory developments (e.g., the EU AI Act, U.S. Executive Orders), data ethics, privacy rights, AI misuse and weaponization, and the role of leaders in shaping organizational AI culture. Students will also critically engage theological themes such as stewardship, justice, subsidiarity, and moral agency. Real-world case studies in hiring, education, healthcare, finance, and surveillance will ground discussion and analysis.
The course combines theory and practice, guiding students in developing internal policy proposals, ethical guidelines, and organizational strategies for the responsible use of AI technologies.
