Continued study of additional verb tenses and grammatical structures and reading assignments of higher complexity. An appreciation of French speaking culture underlies the orientation of the course.

Prerequisite(s): FRE 111 or French 3 in high school. Not open to native speakers of French.
Students with prior study in educational institutions in which French is the primary language are not allowed to receive credit for the elementary level of the native language. They should complete the 111-112 sequence of another language.
