A focused course on the importance of data security and privacy particularly in cloud environments. An introduction to the U.S. and global privacy environment is given. Industry standards and laws regarding security and privacy are stressed to include data management and life cycle processes. Cloud-based security and cryptographic solutions are highlighted. Case studies are provided from the healthcare and finance industry.
