EDU 337 - Methods of Teaching Secondary Science3 Cr. Hrs. This course is designed to introduce teacher candidates to the practical application for teaching science in a secondary education classroom. Not only will students explore some of the theoretical and pedagogical arguments in teaching science, but candidates will also learn to employ the use of these pedagogical theories in their teaching practice. Teacher candidates will be given the opportunity to discuss theoretical research and scholarship, design unit and long-range lesson plans, and practice teaching under the mentorship of a public school partner. Thus, students will engage in the preparation for teaching in a secondary science classroom for diverse learners.
Prerequisite(s): Looking at the other methods classes there are two options for the prerequisite:
Completion of Benchmark I
