MGT 320 - Sports Operations and Facilities

*Description: This course allows the student to investigate the design and development of various athletic facilities in diverse settings, and examines corporate, community, commercial and campus recreation facilities for strengths and weaknesses in design and management procedures. 

 

*Learning Outcomes:

  • Be able to recognize and explain the management principles, theory and industry standards to practical problems and issues faced by managers unique to sport facilities. 
  • Be able to identify and explain the design criteria in developing a site and facility plan. 
  • Be able to apply management principles to the practices of facility maintenance. 
  • Be able to evaluate essential aspects of facility design from both new and renovated facilities. 
  • Be able to distinguish management principles within real world situations and critique the positive and negative aspects of facility design and management.
