CRJ 320 - Drones & Remote Piloting

3 Cr. Hrs.
This course is designed as a study of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) used in public safety and commercial operations.  As part of this course, students will be provided with information and resources to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate with an sUAS rating airman knowledge test. This course will also cover the constitutional issues surrounding drone operations for public safety, aeronautical decision making, risk management, and civil liability. Lastly, students will participate in hands on exercises to develop inflight proficiency as a sUAS Remote Pilot in Command, participate in the role of an aerial observer, and as a proctor for the National Institute of Standards and Testing (NIST) for remote pilot proficiency.
