This course examines literacy development horizontally across the curriculum in Pre K- 3rd grade classrooms. Course content focuses on the integration of early childhood literacy development and instruction throughout all content areas. Individual grade levels are examined to determine the development of literacy across emergent and early literacy skills. Candidates examine diversity and equity issues while researching the effectiveness of factors impacting literacy development in early childhood.
