ESM 360 - Emergency Management Planning and Technical Writing3 Cr. Hrs. This course examines terminology, concepts and principles of community risk assessment, planning, and response to fires, natural and man-made disasters, including National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS), mutual aid and automatic response, training and preparedness, communications, civil disturbances, terrorist threats/incidents, hazardous materials planning, mass casualty incidents, earthquake preparedness, and disaster mitigation and recovery. Participants will exercise the art of technical writing in developing plans, procedures, and policies in accordance with current emergency management planning guidelines and best practices. Prerequisite(s): ESM 315
