EDU 370 - Literacy Development for All Secondary Students

3 Cr. Hrs.
This course develops foundational knowledge and skills within the context of secondary classrooms. Course content addresses the theoretical and evidence-based foundations of literacy, dimensions of diversity, and considerations for differentiating instruction to meet learner’s needs. Candidates examine the components of literacy across a developmental continuum and consider key factors impacting instructional decisions in the classroom. Current issues in literacy education and relevant research are related to guided observations in secondary classrooms. Prerequisite: Completion of Benchmark I.
