EDS 395 - Practicum in Elementary Special Education: Learning Disabilities

3 Cr. Hrs.
This course includes supervised classroom experience prior to the Special Education Clinical Experience for special education, multi-categorical teacher candidates preparing to teach students with learning disabilities in elementary special education classrooms.  The teacher candidate works under the guidance of cooperating teachers and university supervisors.  This course must be taken the semester prior to EDs Practicum in Secondary Special Education.  The teacher candidate must complete the requirements necessary to facilitate an application to the South Carolina Department of Education for teacher certification, including the “Educator Certification Application,” fingerprints for a SLED background check, and a copy of the teacher candidate’s Social Security card.
