EDS 370 - Characteristics of Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

3 Cr. Hrs.
This course focuses on the various theoretical, etiological, sociological and behavioral approaches to the understanding of children with intellectual disabilities and autism. Emphasis is on the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of individuals with cognitive disabilities. Prerequisite: Completion of Benchmark I. The teacher candidate who completes nine (9) hours in special education courses qualifies for add-on certification in Special Education: Learning Disabilities, K-12.
