The Community and Public Health, B.S. program educates students through a Christian perspective that aims to provide students with the comprehensive knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the public health field, with a strong emphasis on community health practices. Students will delve into diverse aspects of public health, including promoting healthy lifestyles, safeguarding community wellbeing, and researching infectious disease prevention.
Public Health in the United States has been a growing cause for concern in the past twenty years. Our nation is faced with major health crises such as chronic illnesses, drug and alcohol addictions, infectious diseases, and obesity. With the increase of technological platforms, such as social media, these issues are gaining the attention of our youth. Now more than ever, we need new generations of health advocates to come forward and work towards preventing a great number of these issues.
This degree will allow graduates an opportunity to work in the health field, outside of a clinical setting. It will prepare students for careers in health administration, health education, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and much more. This degree also prepares graduates toward a Master's in Public Health.
