The minor in Forensic and Criminal Investigations focuses on criminogenic behaviors, crime scene investigations, the collection and custody of potential evidence, and understanding key forensic analyses. The Forensic and Criminal Investigations Minor teaches a multi-faceted approach to criminal and crime scene investigations. Whether it is comparing physical evidence, such as prints, bodily fluids, ballistics, tool mark impressions, or trace evidence, building psychological profiles from evidence discovered through linkage analyses, or the questioning and searching of facts in field investigations, students will explore and gain hands on experience in multiple phases of the criminal investigative analysis process. The Forensics and Criminal Investigation Minor is open to students from all majors, but is perfect for criminal justice, cybersecurity, homeland security, emergency management, education, and science majors interested in applying scientific principles to criminal investigation.
