Co-Curricular Graduation Requirements
Anderson University has two types of co-curricular graduation requirements: the Curriculum Enhancement Program and the Journey Program.
Curriculum Enhancement Program
The purpose of the Curriculum Enhancement Program (CEP) is to enrich the student’s academic experience by providing co-curricular opportunities that reinforce the educational and personal development of students within the framework of the 18 Common Learning Outcomes (CLOs) as outlined in the AU Gold Core Curriculum. Students will participate in required CEPs designed to assist with the transition into the AU community, promote professional readiness, and foster financial literacy. In addition to the required CEPs, students will attend at least 11 CEPs from the Student Selected offerings on campus.
Successful completion of the Curriculum Enhancement Program is required in order to graduate from Anderson University. All traditional, full-time, degree seeking students must participate in a minimum of twenty-four (24) approved CEPs to be eligible for graduation. If a full-time, degree seeking student, transfers to Adult Studies, this student is responsible for completing the required CEPs for the semesters they were a full-time, degree seeking student. Students who do not complete this graduation requirement will not be eligible for graduation until the requirements have been completed. Successful completion of the program is required for graduation. Students will not be allowed to graduate until they satisfy the degree requirements.
There are no exemptions for this graduation requirement. Students who fail to meet the CEP requirements as outlined or students who violate the Community Values and Expectations while in attendance at a CEP will be subject to discipline in the Office of Student Development. Students who are 25 years or older are not required to complete CEPs but are strongly encouraged to participate as part of their educational experience.

Students should arrive at the event on time; students that arrive after the CEP begins will not receive credit for the event. Students must also be in attendance for the duration of the event.
Students that try to present the AU ID of another student will be referred to the Office of Student Development for disciplinary follow-up, and potential loss of 3 CEPs for each student.
Students who fail to meet the CEP requirements as outlined or students who violate the Community Values and Expectations while in attendance at a CEP will be subject to discipline in the Office of Student Development.
CEP credits will be tracked electronically in the student’s CEP account.
Students are responsible for monitoring their credits online and must fulfill their CEP requirements prior to graduation.
Students receive credit for CEPs by scanning their AU ID card at the end of each event. It is the student’s responsibility to have their IDs scanned by the CEP student employee. If a student does not have their AU ID on them at the end of the event, they will not receive CEP credit for the event.
CEP credits will be tracked electronically and students are responsible for monitoring their credits online. The steps to CEPs are listed below:

In the search bar type “CEPS” and click the search symbol.

Scroll down and click on “Curricular Enhancement Program (CEP)”.

Scroll down and click on “CHECK YOUR CEP CREDITS”. Login using your AU credentials.

Your CEP Credits will appear for your review.

AU PRO Signature Series CEPs (6 CEPs total):

AU Professional Readiness Signature Series (AU PRO) opportunities beyond the classroom is a distinctive program designed by Anderson University to improve student preparation for the working world through a set of co-curricular opportunities. AU PRO Signature Series will equip students with a stronger sense of professionalism through written communication skills, nonverbal indicators of a professional image, and oral communication skills.
Ron Blue Financial Literacy CEPs (4 CEPs total to be completed online in Canvas):

The Ron Blue Center CEPs will offer a framework for thinking differently about money. Students will learn how to handle money from a confident place - empowered by biblical financial wisdom. Each of the Ron Blue Center CEPs will teach students about financial management through the 4 H system: Heart, Health, Habits, and Hope. Canvas will alert sophomore students about a course invitation regarding the Ron Blue Financial Literacy CEPs through their email. Dr. Gordon Smith is the director of this program.
Student Selected CEPs (11 CEPs total):

These CEPs will include art exhibitions, musicals, plays, and music performances from the South Carolina School of the Arts, lectures and presentations from other academic departments, and a range of topics that support the AU Core Curriculum. These CEPs allow students to experience art, culture, and history as well as explore a range of student issues.
Transfer Students (previously degree seeking full-time students at another college or university) will:

Participate in the First Year CEPs prior to graduation.

Complete 6 AU PRO Signature Series CEPs prior to graduation.

Complete 4 online Ron Blue Financial Literacy CEPs prior to graduation.

Be responsible for completing 1 Student Selected CEPs per semester of full-time enrollment at AU prior to graduation.

The Journey Program
The JOURNEY PROGRAM is the AU equivalent of “chapel” at other Christian institutions. Through the Journey Program, we have the opportunity to emphasize our spiritual development as we learn to worship and grow together. Students, faculty and staff are offered a variety of worship services, concerts, conferences, and creative presentations.
Why do we call it the JOURNEY PROGRAM?
We feel that students at Anderson University are on a journey of growth in faith and character. Our goal through the Journey Program is for every participant to receive five marks on their journey:
• Grasp a conviction to the CORE (God’s story of redemption as revealed in The Bible).
• Grow in the CALL of Christ (Our identity is found in Christ).
• Confront the CIRCUMSTANCES of life (The past and/or present effects of sin).
• Value a cohesive COMMUNITY (The importance of a local body of believers).
• CARE for the Kingdom of God (May the Kingdom of God come on earth as in Heaven).
Successful completion of the Journey Program is required for graduation at Anderson University. Students are required to attend a minimum of eight (8) campus worship/Journey events for each semester of full-time enrollment up to eight semesters. Please refer to Co-Curricular Graduation Requirements, for additional information.
Please remember the following as you enter Campus Worship each Wednesday and/or Friday at 10:10 AM:
1. No book bags are allowed in campus worship venues. This is for your safety in the event the venue must be exited quickly for an emergency, in keeping with Fire Code regulation.
2. Please do not bring food or drink into Henderson Auditorium.
3. We seek to eliminate distractions during worship. Devices such as iPads and smartphones may be used if you are using an online Bible app, but otherwise we ask that you put these away during Campus Worship.
4. Everyone is required to check in on the iAttended app,scan the QR code as they enter the aduitorium, and enter a four-digit code following the Journey Program event. Students who do not register their attendance in these ways will not receive credit.

Journey Program attendance is recorded through the iAttended app, which each student will need to download on his/her phone or iPad. The Journey Program is reflected on the official transcript as JP 100 and will have a grade of either CR (credit) or NC (no credit). While this grade does not calculate into the student’s grade point average, the student must complete these requirements in order to graduate. Part-time students are encouraged but not required to attend the Journey Program.
Students may check their current Journey Program credits by looking in the iAttended app.
Students are strongly encouraged to contact the Campus Ministries Office if they fall behind on their requirements. Do not wait until the last semester. It is very difficult to meet the requirements at that point.
JOURNEY EXEMPTIONS: Every student who is enrolled in the Adult Studies program is exempt from the Journey Program requirements. Also, student teachers, and students who study abroad are exempt for that semester. Students are still required to make up any credits missed during other semesters.
JOURNEY ONLINE: Rare exceptions may be made for students unable to attend Campus Worship in person. These exceptions must be approved ahead of time and registered with the Office of Campus Ministries at Brashier Glade before midterms. For additional information, contact Ellen Busby in the Office of Campus Ministries. Please note: Journey Program credits are an academic requirement, off campus employment does not excuse students from this requirement.
PLEASE NOTE: Journey credits and CEP credits are not the same. The requirements for CEP are calculated differently. Please refer to the respective sections of the Student Handbook for more information.
