An examination of issues and policies that directly and indirectly influence schools and communities with analyses of their relevance to the learning process. This includes understanding the pressures facing schools in our diverse culture, reviewing current questions in education, and considering curriculum content and systemic issues that impact teaching and learning. An emphasis is also placed on the challenges in education in the 21^st century.
